FEMS MICRO 2025, the premier biennial event in global microbiology, offers a unique opportunity to present your research, engage with expert journal editors and industry leaders, and elevate your scientific profile. Submit your abstract to join a programme that pushes the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.
This year’s theme, Magnifying microbial impact, emphasises two pivotal concepts in microbiology: magnification and research impact. By leveraging cutting-edge research, we’ll develop microbial solutions to humanity’s greatest challenges. Contribute your insights and help shape this vital dialogue.

Submit your abstract on any microbiology-related topic and select two relevant tracks from our programme: Eco Innovation, Health Horizons, Biotechnology, and Engagement & Growth. Apply for a grant
Early career researchers seeking financial support to attend FEMS MICRO 2025 can apply for a grant during the submission process. Details for grant application criteria will be provided shortly.

Interactive Session proposal submission deadline: 15 November 2024
Poster Display, Flash Talk, and Session Talk abstract submission deadline: 24 January 2025
Early bird registration opens: 14 March 2025

Submission Types
Share your research in the form of a hard copy poster on your allotted day, where you’ll be standing by to discuss your work with attendees.
Poster Display
Give attendees a 5-minute overview of your research during a scheduled talk, complemented by a hard copy poster.
Flash Talk
Deliver a 10-minute live presentation followed by a Q&A. Session Talks are grouped by similar topics, with up to four per 60-minute session.
Session Talk
Propose a dynamic 60 to 90-minute session that engages participants through discussions and activities, rather than simply presenting information.

Choose your submission type
Select the one that best fits your research: Poster Display, Flash Talk, Session Talk, or Interactive Session.

Review the guidelines
Check the guidelines carefully to ensure your submission adheres to the specific requirements for your chosen type.

Log in to the submission portal
Create an account on the FEMS MICRO submission portal and start your submission process.

Complete the submission
Provide your contact details, upload your abstract or session proposal, and disclose any conflicts of interest. Early career researchers can also apply for funding after this step.

Track your submission
You’ll receive a confirmation email after submission. Final acceptance notifications will be sent mid-March 2025. If not selected to present, we still welcome you to attend and engage.
